Dove Tales - working with women

Coming Soon! A celebration with Dove Tales - July 2013

This event will celebrate these remarkable women's lives - their stories, friendships, and the diverse vibrancy of Plymouth today! Dove Tales members are currently collaborating on an event which will take place at TR2.

About the Project

This project for isolated women was developed in response to an increasing awareness that many female refugees and asylum seekers in the city felt insecure in their surroundings and unable to access necessary support and services.

Dove Tales is run in partnership with the Plymouth and District Racial Equality Council. Weekly creative arts based sessions enable women to discuss and share experiences in a mutually supportive environment - to share skills, develop new ones, increase confidence, build knowledge about the city and coping with life in Britain.

Dove Tales recently created a film designed to help dispel some myths and break down barriers in Plymouth. This will be used as an information resource in their future contact with organisations across the city and beyond.
