Creative Learning

Welcome to the Creative Learning section of our website. Here you can find out how you or your group can have a go and get involved with theatre making.
Upcoming Events: Young Company Hubs
In October 2012 we are launching 3 new Hubs. A Dance Hub in Ernesettle in partnership with Ernesettle Youth Forum, a Drama Hub in North Prospect in partnership with the Halcyen Centre and a Drama Hub for young people with a parent in prison which will run at Plymouth University, supported by the Faculty of Health, Education and Society.
The Hubs seek to increase confidence, self-esteem and aspiration for the young people involved. The groups are networked with each other, and with the broader Young Company, through joint trips to the theatre and informal performances at the end of each term. Young people taking part will have the opportunity to complete Bronze Arts Awards and many will go on to get involved in further projects at the Theatre Royal including Young Company productions in the Drum Theatre and a pioneering new writing programme with the National Theatre in London.
We are currently recruiting young people to take part in the 3 new Hubs. For more information please contact: Jane Pawson, Young People's Producer, 01752 230542, jane.pawson@theatreroyal.com.
Recruitment: Funky Llama Producer
In 2013 we will be launching Funky Llama, a major new programme which will involve two public events per year for and by adults with learning disabilities: one night club event and one outdoor festival. Supporting the events will be a programme of workshops, training and mentoring which will aim to involve and empower people with learning disabilities in all aspects of the project from participation in arts activities, to 'backstage' involvement, to leadership and decision making. In addition, the programme will provide a performance platform for existing learning disabled groups and artists, and increase skills and capacity within community organisations to develop creative work. Full funding has been secured for the programme in year one, with a significant amount already in place for years 2 and 3.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Producer to lead on all aspects of the projects implementation and contribute to its strategic development in future years. You will have extensive experience of producing creative projects including financial management, monitoring and evaluation, partnership development and working with creative teams.
