New Adventures Dance Workshop

Delivered by New Adventures as part of the National Lottery’s #ThanksToYou campaign

A unique opportunity to dance with leading New Adventures dance artists and explore movement from the award-winning tour of Matthew Bourne’s Production The Red Shoes.

Open to those aged 18+ with little or no dance experience, this is the perfect chance for New Adventures fans to experience what it is like to create material for our shows or learn some of the choreography. Come along and explore, create and express yourselves in a fun, relaxed and friendly environment.

This two-hour workshop will involve getting your bodies moving with a guided warm-up, games, learning repertoire from the show and creative tasks to give an insight into how the company works during rehearsals to create storytelling through movement. The workshop will end with a chance to ask the dancers questions and find out what it’s like to perform in New Adventures!

Matthew Bourne’s Production of The Red Shoes was a sell-out tour before its world premiere season opened in 2016, Matthew Bourne’s triumphant adaptation of the legendary film returns in 2019, having won two Olivier Awards and dazzled audiences across the UK and the USA. The Red Shoes is a tale of obsession, possession and one girl’s dream to be the greatest dancer in the world. Victoria Page lives to dance but her ambitions become a battleground between the two men who inspire her passion.

If you would like to take part in the workshop please email us with the heading ‘Thanks To You’ to book your place.
