Theatre Royal Plymouth’s reputation as the leading producing house in the South West continues to grow. TRP delivers nationally and internationally recognised new work from influential theatre voices in the UK and around the world.
Closer to home, TRP actively supports and collaborates with Plymouth and South West artists; offering opportunities for established and emerging theatre makers from across the region.
Theatre Royal Plymouth is recognised nationally and internationally for producing and presenting new drama and performance in The Drum. This is a flexible 175 seat capacity space, programmed 6–12 months in advance. The Drum is typically programmed for week-long runs throughout September to June.
Contact our Artistic Associate, David Prescott, for more information.
We read full-length stage scripts from playwrights who live in the Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall areas.
Our focus for The Drum and The Lab is contemporary work that reflects the world as it is right now.
Plays can take up to four months to go through our reading system and we ask that you send only one script at a time.
The Playwrights’ Forum is a monthly meet-up at Theatre Royal Plymouth for local playwrights to network and discuss new work.
