Be the first to see and hear a work-in-progress performance of MERMAIDS, a brand new musical by LAB Associate company Seawitch (Harry Blake, Jennifer Fletcher & Alex Lonsdale).

Meet Charisma, an ambitious stagestruck teenager who thinks her life is over when she is forced to leave her friends and packed off to live in the tiny fishing community of Porthmoroven. She has to battle suspicious locals, corrupt politicians and her own prejudice to follow her dream in this uplifting comedy about a struggling drama group in a remote Cornish fishing village.

Capturing the highs and lows of growing up, this performance will premiere songs and scenes from this brand new show, featuring a band and a cast of 8 talented musical theatre performers.

Mermaids was developed with the support of the National Theatre’s Generate programme, Arts Council England, Theatre Royal Plymouth, North Wall Arts Centre, Taunton Brewhouse, AMATA (Falmouth University) and Feast.
