Tuesday by Alison Carr
It’s an ordinary Tuesday that suddenly turns very weird indeed when a tear rips across the sky over the school yard. Not only that, but it starts sucking up pupils and staff while at the same time raining down a whole new set of people. But then, that’s what happens when parallel worlds collide! Confusion reigns as the ‘Us’ and ‘Them’ try to work out what is going on. How are Ash and Magpie identical? Can Billy cope with having his sister back? Who is Franky?
Tuesday will be performed as part of the NT Connections festival. This production will bring together members of the Young Company and the Young Company Hubs aged 12 – 16 to perform this play, first at TR2 and then in the Drum at Theatre Royal Plymouth as part of the NT Connections Festival. The show will be directed by Ryan Wilce.
Auditions will be held on Thursday 27th and Saturday 29th October The auditions will take place at our Production and Learning Centre, TR2 in Cattedown. A full rehearsal schedule can be found here.
You will take part in a group workshop that will last approximately 1 hour. We will then see you individually and ask you to tell us a story about Plymouth. This can be a true story, or completely made up – something that happened to you or someone you know, or a historical tale! Be as creative and performative as you like, but make sure it only lasts around 1 – 2 minutes. Don’t want to perform but want to work backstage? We will also be looking for several young people to support this production as Assistant or Deputy Stage managers who will be involved in supporting rehearsals and the production process. These roles will be of real value, working with our professional Stage Manager, so we are keen to work with young people who are patient, hard-working and have more of an interest in what goes on working backstage to get a performance together!
To apply, please fill out the contact form below or ask for a physical copy from your YC Hubs practitioner. Don’t be afraid to email us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
