Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) has begun essential work in the theatre to create an accessible changing facility.

TRP was awarded a grant of over £17k to build Changing Places at the theatre and TR2, with thanks to the Clare Milne Trust. A Changing Places toilet provides facilities for people with multiple and complex disabilities who have one or two assistants with them. The space is much larger than a usual access toilet and will include hoists and other equipment.

Building work will take place on the ground floor of the theatre from 19 August and should be completed by mid-October. During this time, the Box Office will be located in the Board Room on the third floor, accessible via the stairs or lift, Monday to Saturday, 10am – 2pm. Members of the Front of House team will be based by the entrance to guide visitors. Alternatively, Box Office can be contacted 01752 267222, Monday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm

Work on a Changing Places toilet at TR2 will begin during the winter.
