TRP Stories: Milo Kressinger

Milo Kressinger was a member of the most recent Our Space cohort after previously taking part in TRP and the Prince’s Trust’s ‘Get Started with Theatre’ programme. TRP works with the Prince’s Trust to offer a support pathway for those aged between 16 – 25 who want to develop theatre-industry skills and explore a career in the dramatic arts. Following his participation in the scheme, Milo began searching for a job with his newfound passion for theatre.

During this intervening time, Milo registered for Our Space after being directed to the programme as a way of staying involved with the theatre.

Milo said: “I remember attending that first session and feeling welcomed right away. Having worked with The Prince’s Trust, I felt a bit more confident going into the building. I was excited to meet new people, but also nervous. The course leaders ran icebreakers which immediately made it fun and put people at ease. Everyone in the group, both new members and those who had done the course before, were respectful. It was a friendly environment and safe space where everyone was caring and kind and no one judged anyone else.

“I enjoyed practically all the aspects of Our Space; working with different people to help come up with new productions, taking part in workshops and attending theatre shows. I learnt so much and it’s made a big impact on my life, particularly supporting me while looking for a job. By joining Our Space, I became more confident in socialising and sharing ideas and just really enjoyed going.”

After securing a marketing apprenticeship via a job fair at City College, Milo’s time at Our Space came to an end.

Milo said: “Before the Prince’s Trust programme, I’d only been to the theatre once a long time ago when I was very young, but it’s such a great way to spend your time. I was sad to finish Our Space, but I’ve gained so much.”
