We’re inviting you to Adopt a Seat in The Lyric Auditorium. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate you and your loved one’s enjoyment of the theatre while ensuring our future and your part in it.
Dedicated to you. You might be looking to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, a retirement or remember someone special. You can dedicate your plaque to celebrate your love of theatre or share a message of remembrance or one of thanks. You could even share a line from your favourite show. You can name one for yourself or team up with friends, family, or workmates. Either way, you’re sure to become part of the furniture.
Not sure which seat to choose? There are currently over 50 seats taken but we’ve got over 1,000 left to pick from! We’d love to show you around the auditorium to help you pick the best seat for your plaque – simply email development@theatreroyal.com to arrange a visit.
The package
Choose to Adopt a Seat for either two years or five years*
Here’s a rundown of what you can get:
- Choose your favourite seat in The Lyric Auditorium
- Your dedication will be inscribed on a plaque on the back of your chosen seat
- You’ll get a commemorative certificate
- You’ll be invited to ‘meet your seat’ for the perfect photo opportunity
- At the end of the two or five years, you’ll have first refusal on renewing your chosen seat
*Your seat plaque subscription will start from the installation date rather than the date of purchase
Discount for Members
Members (Friend and above) get special discounts when they Adopt a Seat.
If you’re a Member you will automatically receive a discount on your Seat.

Adopt a Seat FAQs
Does Adopt a Seat mean I own the seat?
No. Your dedication will be on the seat for two or five years from the date of installation. The seat will still be open for anyone to book.
When will my seat plaque be installed?
Seat plaques are ordered every three months and will then be installed, so please note that depending on the date of purchase it may take up to four months for your plaque to be in place.
Can I Adopt a Seat for longer than five years?
Yes. We’d love to talk with you about longer-term options. Please get in touch today by emailing development@theatreroyal.com or calling 01752 267222.
Do I get priority access to the seat?
We can’t guarantee that you will always be able to book your seat. If you are a Member then your priority access will make it easier to ensure that you are at the front of the queue when shows go on sale.
Can I visit my seat plaque?
You can arrange a trip to see your seat plaque by getting in touch with development@theatreroyal.com to request.
How long can my plaque inscription be?
Each plaque can contain up to 30 characters per line (up to three lines in total).
