Local Stories of National Significance: Choosing a good story and getting the funding
RABBLE Theatre’s current production, Glitch – the True Story of the Post Office Scandal, is being performed in The Drum as part of a national tour, whilst past projects have been dubbed Top 5 and Top 20 UK Shows by The Telegraph & Guardian, respectively.
In a notoriously difficult climate, how are these plays chosen, created and funded? In this workshop, RABBLE’s Devon-based artistic director, Toby Davies, will be discussing the story behind Glitch, how RABBLE develop work, their focus on community engagement and their approach to attracting funding from bodies such as Arts Council England.

About Glitch
Pam Stubbs has been sub-postmistress of Barkham Post Office for over twenty years, respected and loved by the community.
But when unexplained discrepancies start appearing in her accounts, Pam soon finds herself at the heart of the biggest miscarriage of justice in English legal history.
Glitch is an inspirational true story, based on the experiences of Pam and her colleagues. The play was created with sub-postmistresses and masters affected by the events, key members of the legal process and commissioned by the University of Reading.
