PC DRAMA 18+ yrs (Afternoon)
Tuesdays 13:00 – 15:00
Location: The Lab- TRP
Cost: £65 (10-week term)
These sessions, led by Mich and Becky, will explore the meaning of verbatim, the process of creating this kind of theatre and how to perform it.
You will use puppetry to explore this further and the term will culminate in a sharing of the work developed throughout.
PC STAGE MANAGEMENT 18+ yrs (Evening)
Tuesdays 19:15 – 21:15
Location: Production & Learning Centre, TR2
Cost: £35 (5-week term w/c 25.04.22 – w/e 29.05.22)
These sessions will give you a Stage Managers insight into what happens behind the scenes from rehearsal through to performance. Janette Owen will take you through what you need to know to work in stage management.
Through practical activities, you will learn about the different roles within the team, running rehearsals, working with props, creating your prompt copy and opening the show. No previous experience of backstage theatre is required.
PC DRAMA 18+ yrs (Evening, second half of term)

Cost: £35 (5-week term w/c 06.06.22 – w/e 10.07.22)
These sessions will explore the creation of original performance using the stimulus of lived experience. Led by Voodoo Monkeys, Lee Hart and Jason Brownlee, participants will discover techniques, methodologies, and the underpinning principles which the company adopted in the making of ‘Today I Killed My Very First Bird’. Participants will use this to create a 2-3 minute seedling of a unique piece of theatre.
This will culminate in the sharing of that work and the opportunity to see ‘Today I Killed My Very First Bird’ previewed in the Drum theatre before it transfers to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
PC VOICES 18+ yrs
Wednesdays 19:00 – 21:00

TRP’s community choir who come together to sing songs of varying genres & styles. New members are always welcome – no previous experience is necessary!
YOUNG/PEOPLE’S COMPANY BURSARY APPLICATION FORM
Thank you for requesting the Young Company/People’s Company Bursary Application Form. Please read through the terms and conditions carefully and complete the form below to help us respond to your request for a bursary placement. All bursary applications will be reviewed at the same time 2 weeks before the start of each term. If you require any assistance in filling out this form please contact a member of the Engagement and Learning team by emailing either youngcompany@theatreroyal.com or peoplescompany@theatreroyal.com There are two kinds of bursaries - 50% discount or a free place on a Young Company or People’s Company course over the course of a 10 week term. Young/ People’s Company Terms and Conditions – • There are a limited number of bursary available which will be allocated on a case by case basis before the start of each term. • Bursaries are either at a 50% discount (half bursary) for those who are able to meet some of the cost but not the full cost of a course, or a free place for the term (full bursary) for those who are not able to meet any of the cost of the course. • Both are valid for the one term- email the team at the end of the term if you wish to continue receiving a bursary and the team will let you know if this is possible for another term. This means every term you’ll need to check in with the team/ complete the booking process • Bursaries are offered on the condition that the participant does not miss more than 3 sessions a term. IMPORTANT: If you or anyone in your household are displaying symptoms of Covid-19 Coronavirus or have been advised to self-isolate, please do not attend any of our sessions/workshops and seek medical advice. Please let us know if you develop any symptoms within 10 days of attending a session with us
It’s so important to us that you and our practitioners feel safe when you are taking part in our sessions and are in any of our buildings, so some covid secure procedures/ safety measures will continue for the foreseeable future.
Other measures
NB: We hope to deliver all workshops/ sessions in-person but, please prepare for the possibility of workshops/ sessions having to revert to online delivery for part or all of the term should government guidance change or we are unable to use any of our buildings because of a case on-site. Social distancing may need to be reintroduced if this is recommended by government guidelines.
