The kids are off school, and summer is well and truly here.
What better way to celebrate than to launch these exciting new shows!

On Stage

The ‘weight’ is over! Following the massive success of its first outing, Kay Mellor’s Fat Friends The Musical comes to Theatre Royal Plymouth, starring West End and ‘Holby City’ TV favourite, Lee Mead. This hugely entertaining musical is based on the hit TV show Fat Friends, which starred James Corden and Ruth Jones. Fat Friends The Musical is a feel-good night out for everybody and a HUGE hit!

The live theatre debut of this unique two-woman retelling of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiece The Great Gatsby, a co-production from The Wardrobe Ensemble (Education, Education, Education) and The Wardrobe Theatre (Drac & Jill). Invited to an extravagant party in a Long Island mansion, young bachelor Nick Carraway is intrigued by the flamboyant host, Jay Gatsby; a self-made, self-invented millionaire with a mysterious past. As the two strike up an unlikely friendship, a cocktail-soaked story of memory, money and lost love unfolds…

On Screen

Following the success of Rambert’s first real-time digital live stream on Rambert Home Studio in September 2020, they’re continuing to live stream online performance throughout 2021. This September don’t miss RAMBERT2 X BENOIT SWAN POUFFER. This performance is happening in real time, it is not pre-recorded. You don’t have to leave your home but while you take your seat on your sofa, Rambert’s dancers (and cameras) will be warming up and preparing to perform.

Join Fehinti Balogun on a journey into the world of environmental activism, as he tells the story of how, as a young Black British man, his path has been forever changed by what he’s learnt about our planet. Using original hip-hop and spoken word, Can I Live? is an energising and uplifting exploration of the place where the climate emergency and social justice meet, and a call-to-arms to anyone curious about what we can do to help.
