Join us for a workshop on how to pitch yourself as an artist, facilitated by local playwright Laura Horton.
With 15 years of PR experience, starting in-house at Theatre Royal Plymouth, National Theatre and Somerset House and then moving into freelance work, Laura has significant experience in managing and leading creative media relations campaigns.
In 2020, Laura conceived a project to support Theatre Royal Plymouth where she collected people’s positive stories, which has now become Theatre Stories. Laura Horton was also Plymouth Laureate of Words from 2020 – 2022. She has written shows which have seen enormous success at Edinburgh Fringe Festival such as Lynn Faces and Breathless, which won a Fringe First Award.
This workshop is part of a wider slate of opportunities for local artists to celebrate and mark the return of FAME The Musical to The Lyric at Theatre Royal Plymouth. Artists who attend will receive a discounted rate ticket to see FAME during its run.
TRP’s Artist Development Programme is proud to offer free opportunities for artists to connect with each other. This includes access to rehearsal space, workshops, and opportunities to engage with the art across our stages.
You can view more opportunities linked with FAME below.
